The floor of the tub comes first
A bath mat with proper suction turns the slickest surface in the house into a grippy one. Fit it before the first sit-up bath, check the suction cups are all down each time, and peel it after the bath so mildew has nowhere to live.
Outside the tub, a step stool with a rubberized top gives a toddler a stable platform at the sink and one fixed place to stand, which is half the battle of teeth-brushing.
Hot water and hard spouts
A soft spout cover pads the one piece of metal at exactly head height for a seated child. Pick one that fits your spout shape and clean under it weekly.
Water temperature is a settings problem more than a product problem: turn the water heater down to about 49 degrees C, 120 F, and test the bath with your wrist before the baby goes in. Run cold first, then add hot.
The toilet and everything under the sink
A toilet lock reads as paranoid until you watch a top-heavy toddler investigate an open bowl. Adhesive lid locks fit most toilets and open one-handed for adults.
Under-sink cabinets in bathrooms hold the same chemistry as kitchen ones and get the same latch treatment. Razors and medicines go higher than that, latch or no latch.
Potty season logistics
When potty training arrives, a seat reducer plus a step stool beats a standalone potty for many families because there is nothing extra to empty and the flush is part of the routine from day one. Other children want the small potty first, and both roads end at the same place.
Whichever way you go, park the equipment in the bathroom weeks before you start. Familiar objects get used; new ones get inspected.
